How do we analyse the EEG recording waves in rat? What are the conclusions we can get from them? For a rat, we are getting only two waves ie frontal waves and occipital waves. How do we analyse these EEG waves in a rat?
The recorded waves can be analysed by its amplitude (microvolt),frequency ( Hz/sec) ,duration and contour(spike, sharp, slow, arch, spike wave,Poly spike )and its relation to different states of wake sleep cycle and age of the subject(rat)
Besides the useful response above-mentioned, it would be advisable to employ parallel video recording during EEG monitoring, and correlate the behavioral patterns to the specific wave changes. Rodent seizure behaviors are indeed variable across different age-groups.
