Do note that different journals require different permissions, though, so in addition to the journal's permission to reproduce an image, it might also be necessary to obtain the permission of any people being featured in an image for their image to appear in that context, or to obtain individual permission for every sub-image in a composite image. The publishing houses generally have a link explaining the permissions process for their journals on their websites, so if you take a look at the website of the journal from which you need permission, you should be able to determine how to obtain it, and if you inspect the permissions procedures for the journal that is to publish your manuscript, you might be able to save yourself some time by obtaining all permissions at once.
