Thank you for your answer sir. But I used electrophoresis instead of chromatography. Instead of the usual gel electrophoresis, I replaced the agarose gel with chromatography paper. Visualization of biogenic amines was done using acidified ninhydrin solution though.

I would try to use a more acid pH buffer such as acetate buffer
