How do you report variance explained for PCA?

Hi quick question, I would be grateful for some advice. After running PCA the results include a table showing the variance explained by the components. You may then need to remove some items to achieve a cleaner loading pattern. Just checking if you report the variance explained by the components AFTER you have finished removing items.
