I am looking to prepare an egg yolk supplement in-lab to support the growth of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis in 7H9 liquid culture. A method was presented in a paper by Harris et al 2005 (http://vdi.sagepub.com/content/17/6/554.long) but there is no mention of sterilization or how to aseptically separate the yolk from the albumin. Has anyone ever prepared the supplement in lab before?
