Medical Maggots™ (maggot therapy, maggot debridement therapy, MDT, biotherapy, biosurgery, biodebridement, larval therapy). Maggot therapy is the controlled, therapeutic use of live blow fly larvae ("maggots") to treat skin and soft tissue wounds.
Observations have indicated that maggots have the ability to debride wound beds, provide anti-microbial activity and also stimulate wound healing.

Antimicrobial resistance is the major hindrance even in simple wound healing process, particularly in diabetics.

The atmospheric pressure plasma jet has also been applied for wound healing.Plasma jet can interact with the cells or tissues faster without inducing pain and allergic reaction. Neutrophils are considered to be the soldiers of the body. When there is a trauma or wound on the surface of the body,the first cell come closed at the site of trauma are neutrophils. APPJ has non specific antibacterial effects and can be used as a effective tool for the chronic wound.
