I have never felt disappointed from a decision made for a PhD student defending his dissertation in front of a committee who I was one of it. Committee members are in favor although have precisely showed errors in the equations and computation with statistical mistakes. They decided to offer him the pass with minor editing. I was against this verdict and could believe that at this level we as academic faculties work politics. I was really disappointed especially when this student will be a colleague that the basic of research is away from the basic criterion. Conducting research is not a practice just to collect data. Meanwhile, using statistical packages does not mean you are on the right track. Statistics is a tool to solve for prediction and significant.

What do you do and how do you feel if your foot in my shoe?
