How do you do a Null Model, Random Intercept, or Random Slope Model?

I don't have much knowledge about the techniques Null Models, Random Intercepts, and Random Slope Models and need to calculate them for an analysis in Stats software. Could anyone please provide me with some guidelines on how to calculate them?

I would start with reading a good book on multlevel analysis; and /or you could follow the Centre for Multilevel Modelling's free online Lemma course which you can do in MLwin, R or Stata
