I'd like to know how you guys detect mCherry in your transfected cells, e.g. in FACS, to check the efficiency or to sort. I mean, which wavelength are picked for excitation or which channels for detection?.
mCherry absorbs light between 540-590 nm and emits light in the range of 550-650 nm. You can detect mCherry in the PE-TexasRed channel with a 610/20 bandpass filter.
Genemedi got a rich experience in virus production and transfection, you could find more information on https://www.genemedi.net/i/lentivirus-packaging
