I have 3-5 images from each well from the angiogenesis tube formation assay. I am trying to measure the tube formation and come up with numerical data based upon the analysis. Also, is ImageJ the most suitable software to use?
You can use ImageJ plug-ins to measure total tube length etc. It is very easy to use (I have used the one below. Of course you can manually analyse the total tube length with ImageJ by tracking all the lines, but this is time consuming. You can also upload your images to a website (Wimasis Image Analysis, Ibidi) and you get your results in excel in a heartbeat. You buy a certain amount of images you want to analyze. You get results like total tube length, average tube length, number of tubes, number of loops etc. I used Wimasis because the plug-ins caused me too much time since I had to analyze a lot of images :) Hope this helps!
Actually, WimTube is focused on quantifying Tube Formation Assay and it is designed with flexibility to adapt to images covering the whole range of microscopy imaging techniques. It's easy to use and you can try it for free.
Hi, I know this is an old post but I am trying Angiogenesis analyzer. I am having trouble interpreting the results. What will be the total tube length, will it be the Tot. length or Tot. branching length and for a number of tubes is it NB. branches?
