The concentration of surfactants is well above the critical micelle concentration in water. Does the adsorption of surfactant ions on the surface of the coal particles contribute in forming stable slurry systems? Does the adsorption has any role is dictating rheology or only the portion of surfactant present in the solution (not adsorbed) govern the viscoelastic behavior?
