I am modeling a yarn-knitted reinforced rubber hose in Abaqus, in order to measure the expansion and burst pressure.
As seen in my model, I have used BEAM section for the aramid cords, which are EMBEDDED in the SOLID rubber layer.
I wanted to know :
How can I model the knitting correctly, so that contact occurs in at the intersections, when the hose is expanding?
Right now, in my model, due to EMBEDDED constraints, the nodes of the beam layer are constrained by the solid layers, hence there is no contact occuring.

both the fabric and the rubber adhesive perfectly, the second-order hybrid element (C3D10MH) is used for the rubber material, also the second-order tetrahedron element (C3D10I) is used for the fiber. There are 100,051 elements and 229,556 nodes in the finite element model.
