Hello Abaqus users,
I am looking for the best way to model a yarn-knitted reinforced rubber hose in Abaqus, in order to measure the expansion and burst pressure.
I have modeled the 3D geometry (see image), and wish to import 1/8th of it (due to cyclic symmetry) into Abaqus and analyse it.
I would like to know your valuable suggestions on :
1. What interaction method in Abaqus could help me model the interlocking of yarns when the pressure inside the hose increases?
2. I have already tried embedded elements, but there is no scope for contact in embedded elements. The interior nodes are basically constrained.
3. Would solid elements be preferable for the yarns or beam elements, according to your suggestion?
Looking forward to your wonderful ideas! Thank you in advance.
