Hi All!
We got a Coy chamber for hypoxia work - does anyone have experience with sterilizing it? I cleaned it throroughly with 70% EtOH, put some medium overnight to check, and everything seemed to be infected/grown something in it... How do you keep those things clean enough to do cell culture in?

Barryicidal was very good but it has now been banned for import (according to VWR) and so we have switched to Incubator Clean by Applichem which acts in a very similar way.
Incubator-Clean™ disinfectant solution prevents contamination with, and growth of, fungi (and spores), bacteria (and spores, including Tuberculosis bacteria), viruses (including HIV and Hepatitis B) and mycoplasma in incubators and/or on sterile work benches. The active ingredients are quaternary benzylammonium compounds.

Sun Yung suggestion is great! We use similar products for general clean up of incubators and hypoxia chambers. But frankly, if you're having big problems with contaminations inside the hypoxia chamber, usually the filters on the gas and or water lines might be contaminated or in need of replacement. Worth checking?

We have fumigated the whole chamber with H2O2, and still getting infections in the medium... Can it be the sleeves? How do you keep them clean? Do you work without HEPA filter? Our system is without...
Any ideas are very welcome!
