Hi Friends,

I am using FLUENT to simulation and CFD-Post to post-processing. I'm wondering of the exact definition of some macros provided by CFD-Post, such as (Velocity u.Gradient X), (Velocity u.Gradient Y), and similar variables. If these variables calculate velocity gradients such as du/dx, du/dy, … the unit should be [s-1], but when I am using these macros they return a value without a unit. I check also gradient variables in FLUENT which they are (Dx Velocity Dx), … they return a value with a unit of [s-1] but the interesting point is that these two values in FLUENT and CFD-Post are completely different. I really get stuck and don’t know how I can extract the value of velocity gradients in CFD-Post. I prefer to use CFD-Post to calculate some parameters because it is convenient to calculate transient parameters in CFD-Post and extract the values.

I would appreciate it if you could help me to know how I can extract velocity gradients in CFD-Post.

Cheers,

Siamak
