In order to obtain a composite of (Lithium zirconium phosphate) in PVDF matrix, there is NO need to dissolve the (Lithium zirconium phosphate). The general steps for such process are:
1- Make a solution of the PVDF in a suitable solvent.
2- Add the ceramic powder with mixing and, if necessary, ultrasonic treatment. Sometimes, adding a surfactant is required to obtain a stable suspension.
3- Remove the solvent by normal evaporation, spray drying, or adding another liquid that can NOT dissolve the PVDF and has high affinity to the solvent.
To prepare a nanocomposite, no need to dissolve the phase (ceramic oxide) but you have to make a dispersion of your matrix materials (polymer). Then, add your phase to the dispersion and agitate by stirring or ultra-sonication and remove the solvent and excessive matrix materials to get the desired composite.
