What you have described is a Structural Equation Model (SEM), where the factors you predict will be assessed by a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). And yes, you can use Likert-formated items for this type of modeling.

However, eight factors is a high number for this kind of work, and it will generate the need for at least 3 items per factor. That will also create the need for a relatively large sample in order to generate stable estimates for the components in your model.

You may want to reduce these factors to a smaller number using Factor Analysis. Check the Rotated and Unrotated factor Matrix RFM to see the same set of questions loading high on the same set of factors. These factors can then be linearly regressed on the DV operating along y= mx+b

Dear Tanvi Godbole , there can be many data analysis techniques using Multiple Regression in SPSS, SEM etc. the most important issue HOWEVER is that based on what you would use "Each of the 8 factor will have many variables to be posed as questions to respondents." Would these "many variables" be wrote by yourself?

AND, normally shortcuts do not work in research so try to seek guidance step by step and be specific to what you want to learn.
