you can use the glass tube diameter of 2 cm is equipped with a lock to control the out flow and be linked to a plastic pipe so that the tip of it be higher than the level of the sand in the filter to ensure water flow within the entire body filter

You can use a chromatographic column of 20 mm diameter and 30 cm height packed with the clay rich soil equipped with fittings and piping connected to a peristaltic pump to control flow of water.
