Hi, in our lab we mainly work on only extracting plasmid DNA with Miniprep kit as well as purifying and receiving plasmid DNA form agarose gel.
Recently I have been asked to sequence genomic DNA which was provided by another research group, but I was failed as the genomic DNA is impure with A260/A280 value below 1.0. Are there any possibilities that I could purify the genomic DNA without buying a specific kit for the purpose?

I used the genomic DNA clean and concentrador from Zymo research, and have very good results.

Dissolve your DNA into 500 ul of TE buffer and repeat phenol: cholorofomr: iaa 25:24:1 or equal vol. of chloroform followed by iso-propanol precipitation.
