In certain industry, there is a huge amount of Calcium Sulphate produced annually as a subproduct. Is there any idea for how to use them or it will be sent to the landfill???
Construction industry needs gypsum, e.g. in Germany. Due to the planned closure of the lignite-fired power plants in Germany there is a lack of gypsum expected. Up to now most of the gypsum comes from their flue gas desulfurization.
Do you have any contacts for organizations who could be interested to use this amount of calcium sulphate (I am searching for the answer of this question: is the amount of 200000 Ton/year considered a huge amount comparing to the demand?)
Dear Mohamed Salaheldin , I don't know a specific organisation. I would suggest that you ask a professor in agriculture at a university in the area there you are producing the calcium sulphate if they have areas with problems of to high salt content in the top soil. It is a common problem in connection with irrigation and also occur if fields are occasionally flooded by seawater.
