I am using a SiO2 wafer with gold electrode on top of it, and I'm looking for a way to "re-use" the gold electrode if possible. Is there a way to not hurt the gold electrode (that is very thin) yet get rid of reduced graphene oxide that is residing on top of the gold fingers?
Generally, Graphene oxide can be washed using HCl and Deionized water with vacuum filtration. When the degree of oxidation of graphene oxide is high, Graphene oxide present very good hydrophilicity, vacuum filtration may not draw water out from Graphene oxide suspension

Piranha solutions, a mixture of H2SO4, water and H2O2 - are good to clean organic residues on the surface of substrates. You can also use a 50 mM KOH and 25% H2O2 solution followed by a rinse with mill-Q water.
