People skills and critical thinking go hand in hand; it is important to understand, how other people do think. You need a positive and creative attitude to critique any status quo und formulate your take in a friendly manner. Never engage in an endless chain of the critique to critique; be always constructive and supportive.
One must always be empathetic in all situations, be critical but without the need to create problems, the experiences of each day in our development as researchers helps us to have a broader vision and be able to distinguish in certain situations
To improve critical thinking, consider the following: Be a good listener, Do a thorough analysis of issue, Conduct research about the issue, Ask questions, avoid being too confidence.
I interpret critical thinking with a background of general and professional knowledge, avoiding bias and appropriate assessment of situation and finally conveying information as per better communication skill expertise will/can help yield the desirable
Critical thinking helps in personal autonomy: The acquisition of skill in critical thinking helps to be more independent and not dependent on others. This is done by introducing all elements of power in your personality on the one hand, and elements of weakness on the other. Helping you avoid mistakes and elevate your skills to the best levels.

Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally, understanding the logical connection between ideas. The skills that we need in order to be able to think critically are varied and include observation, analysis, interpretation, reflection, evaluation, inference, explanation, problem solving, and decision making. Improving critical thinking skills is a life study, and one that’s definitely worth pursuing. Thinking critically is the pinnacle of the accumulation of knowledge and experience
Critical thinking can be divided into 1. the process of clarification, 2. examination of the foundation of reasoning, 3. reasoning, 4. behavior decision.
By repeating the process of "clarification", "examination of the foundation of reasoning" and "reasoning", we will lead to a better "behavior decision (decision-making)".
Ultimately, you can improve your critical thinking capability.
Steps to Improving Your Critical Thinking: 1. Don't Take Anything at Face Value. 2. Consider Motive., 3. Do Your Research, 4. Ask Questions., 5. Don't Assume You're Right. 6. Break It Down. and 7. Keep It Simple.
Method that I frequently use is 6 thinking hats (Edward de Bono). It helps me to stimulate critical thinking capability because I must put on each of the hats and think on different way - each hat is critical to others.
I agree with the scholarly submissions of Prof. Catia and Dr. Segun especially on good listening abilities, sharp analytical skills and censored criticism of issues as the exceptional traits that aid in the development of critical thinking.
Critical thinking is the objective analysis of facts to form a judgment. The subject is complex, and several different definitions exist, which generally include the rational, skeptical, unbiased analysis, or evaluation of factual evidence.
Following are the Critical Thinking Skills For each of the critical thinking skills shown below, they give a number of activity statements.
- Analyzing. Separating or breaking a whole into parts to discover their nature, functional and relationships. ...
- Applying Standards. ...
- Discriminating. ...
- Information Seeking. ...
- Logical Reasoning. ...
- Predicting. ...
- Transforming Knowledge.
These are the Most Crucial critical thinking skills (and how you can improve them)
- Identification. The first step in the critical thinking process is to identify the situation or problem as well as the factors that may influence it. ...
- Research. ...
- Identifying biases. ...
- Inference. ...
- Determining relevance. ...
- Curiosity.
The Six stages we will lay out are as follows:
- Stage One: The Unreflective Thinker.
- Stage Two: The Challenged Thinker.
- Stage Three: The Beginning Thinker.
- Stage Four: The Practicing Thinker.
- Stage Five: The Advanced Thinker.
- Stage Six: The Accomplished Thinker.
There are several benefits of Critical Thinking including: You can gain numerous benefits from mastering critical thinking skills, such as better control of your own learning and empathy for other points of view.
For critical thinking improvement, one must play games - both external (Badminton, Football etc) and internal games ( Virtual reality games, Sudoku, etc)
Games have been proved to open up an individual's mind. I would recommend playing games as they not only keep you physically fit, but mentally active & sharp as well!

Thinking is a process of our mind activities which results in our career process ,our family problems & also our social connection . For our career right type of thinking is a must which demands an energetic approach & critical opinion for our action .
In this line I have my publication under the captioned '' Thinking - The way of our life for your kind perusal with a request you offers us a valuable opinion
A scholar can improve the critical thinking capability when there is readiness for a self change & inner confession that nobody is perfect or without defects. These two conditions are paramount before the start of learning critical thinking.
Any data or information or news or topic …etc has to be received with thinking, analysis, evaluation, questioning, comparison, contrasting, and contemplation without necessarily taking a long time in such brain's activities. The arrival at a proper judgment cannot occur without these activities.
After judgment is present, a free setting will allow for constructive criticism which stems from critical thinking. Unfortunately, "true" free settings in academia are absent & in many cases, the "big brothers" will consider criticism as a personal attack on them which requires retaliation. At my old age, I have learnt "through the years" that many bosses accept praise & reject rectification even if a given situation is too faulty. I paid heavy prices for just speaking few words that really did not harm anyone of those who consider themselves as semi-Gods.
Analyzing information is paramount for critical thinking. No one thinks critically at all times. Sometimes our joy, anger, sadness or other emotions are too great, and other times we struggle to focus on the central issue at hand. To reach success, we need to analyze the information before us, whether it is information in our mind or being shared by others. We can break it down by assessing what is being said, and ensuring that we clearly understand what it is that needs to happen. Then we can dissect and appraise all arguments, including our own, and think about how the decisions would impact others, as well as the bottom line. When we can step back and analyze an argument, it allows us to approach it from an objective viewpoint.
For good reasons we try to teach "Critical Thinking" at universities. I think a good mix of disciplines and how they can be applied is crucial (e.g. philosophy of science and ethics) in educating "Critical Thinkers".
By identifying the problem or idea with an open mind:
When you identify the problem you are actually simplifying it before you; to deal with it flexibly, ask yourself what is the problem? Define the problem carefully, open minded and simply deal with the different viewpoint or accept an opinion contrary to your opinion, and look for other alternatives, and other possibilities for consensus on views, as well as compromise assumption, avoid looking at things as right or wrong, good or bad, About extremism in opinion or thought.
Krulik, S., & Rudnick, J. A. (1999). Innovative tasks to improve critical and creative thinking skills. from Developing Mathematical reasoning in Grades K-12, 138-145.
One must understand the links between ideas and should able to find the importance and relevance of it. Reasoning and appraisal of arguments is required by following a consistent and systematic way.

My criterion, began to develop from very young, because I devote myself to think a lot and reason about how society worked, first one must have bases on ethics and morality, in function of these social methods, can be established standards, through the Which, you may be able to decide that this right or wrong
There are motivational factors that help the development of critical thinking, all from the need to have an active attention to a certain issue that interests us. Factors of a cultural nature are crucial, for example, people who interact with controversial and diverse issues find the possibility to confront ideas and to the effect they strive to unravel the truth, its truth, in an area of criticism to what they face.
There can be no critical thinking if we are afraid to confront points of view.
I very much agree with Professor Reinaldo Requeiro . May I add that critical thinking & what stems out of it (i.e. criticism) are not tolerated by the rampant despots of this world especially the tyrannical rulers.
Many times & in different parts of the world, I observed "arrogant" persons (and deep states) who became "mad" upon hearing points of view that differ from what they have. A despot, possessing power, can cause immense harm to "free" thinkers once they are labeled as opponents.
I wish that the last sentence of the Professor " There can be no critical thinking if we are afraid to confront points of view" is said & is honestly applied by those in power.
What is the overall best way to improve critical thinking?
Critical thinking is evaluating what you hear and read. It helps to explore the motive of the information. You learn though research, asking questions, and not assuming you're right.
Critical thinking is important because it is the ability to rationalize ideas, opinions and thought, and make logical decisions. Being able to critically think will lead to a much better life as you will have the ability to make right decisions and question everything.
For the sake of monetary improvement we have to be good listeners and evaluate and analyze the problem in order to find the right solution for it. And also that we have the right confidence to deal with the other two at different levels of culture.
I would want to follow up on some of the contributions here, including my own older one: When we teach critical thinking to students - and here I assume aspects of ethics, philosophy and deconstructivism - when is it best to teach in a curriculum?
Ideally, I would say, througout - of course.
But that - unfortunatley - would not always be feasible.
If continuous training it is not feasible but needs to be concentrated - e.g. in a 4 weeks' course - then rather in the beginning of the educational programme or in the end? Any reflections, experiences, recommendations for literature on that?
Critical Thinking Skills In order for critical thinking to be applied correctly, a set of critical thinking skills must be used, the most important of which is: Conclusion: The ability to reach suggested results, and they can be chosen as a set of alternatives to help solve the problem. Explanation: It is a skill to clarify the nature of the problem, and analyze it in a simplified way so that it can be easily understood by the person directly associated with it, or other people who contribute to its solution. Inference: It is the skill to search for all the directories that help to link the components of the problem with each other, and may be such evidence as truth papers, documents, or digital documents stored in the computer. Calendar: is to ensure the success of critical thinking from reaching the final solution, the only problem, or the complex issue, and to be careful to follow the method of application
Critical thinking is essential to all Health Professionals Cadres including Clinicians, Nurses, Laboratory Personnels, Pharmaceutical Personnels, etc., as well as to patients. For patients it will help them to manage their own health and also take up advice from health professionals, as noted by Sharples, et al (2017), Doi: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.j2234 To institutionalize critical thinking in health care systems, we must ensure that it is included in health professionals education and also it is included in health promotion and education sessions that are delivered patients/clients in health facilities in particular at the reception area where they usually wait in queue for registration and to see Doctors in OPD rooms. This should also be done for the in-patients. Critical thinking is also essential for policy makers and others at strategic levels of health systems, since it will help them to solve problems and also rebuild weak health systems in situations such as for countries that are coming out of wars and conflicts, as noted by Adwok in 2010 for the Southern Sudan http://www.southsudanmedicaljournal.com/archive/november-2010/critical-thinking-in-healthcare-reflections-on-southern-sudan.html In order to achieve that level of critical thinking for policy makers and others at strategic levels of health systems, we need to include critical thinking in Continuing Professional Development programmes.
I also recommend that we take the approach by Kahlke and Eva (2018), https://doi.org/10.1007/s40037-018-0415-z of making a more diverse understanding of what critical thinking is through the three conceptions identified - (i) Biomedical Critical Thinking; (ii) Humanist Critical Thinking; and (iii) Social Justice - oriented Critical Thinking. Building on their approach, will help in making critical thinking more clear in health professional education.
A great paper that can contribute to this discussion: Why science needs philosophy [and critical thinking]. Good to see this article in such an esteemed science journal.
If you think critically, you should be free from everything you have around. You have to do good mental health at every perspective you can. Mental health includes eveything as a human being. You should open all possible critization you can get from everyone in who you live. All of these things cover that it is important to listen more and share ideas.
