Is it correct to immerse TiO2 thin film in a photoreactor which has methylene blue and measure the absorbance of methylene blue during irradiation time?
TiO2 powder or particles are much better in the case of degrading organics under light illumination due to ability to disperse the powder in the solution which results in high surface area. However for thin films i would suggest to do water splitting investigations under light illumination and the photoactivity of TiO2 can be assessed in terms of photocurrent density due to oxygen evolution.
