I tried to model shape memory alloy in static structure in ansys workbench and have given the properties needed to see the shape memory effect and applied some pressure and generated some deformation in the material and after that I have applied some thermal condition that is temperature and then by the property of SME the deformation should be recovered but this is not happening instead I'm seeing increase in deformation.
So please, anyone who worked in this field please reply to me as soon as possible.

I haven't used ANSYS workbench, so I am not very familiar with the way the material properties of the SMA are assigned there. I believe though that the required material parameters are the same with the APDL.
So I am attaching a presentation that might be useful for you in order to understand the way the SMA material parameters have to be declared to define the hysterisis loop that you want.
Moreover, I can advise you to look at the verification manual of the ANSYS help files. So please check the following
a) VM221
b)VM273
I beleive that ANSYS workbench has the capabilies of lnking APDL routines to its analysis, so you can use the VM to your problem.

NO there is no Shape Memory alloy material available in Work Bench but you can easily make model in Work Bench and the for analysis just transfer to Mechanical APDL, and can get the result in Work Bench.

Hi,
Actually there is Shape Memory Material in Ansys. Not only in the last version 16.1 but also in previous ones I think.
You also have Superelastic material.
