Treat your sample initially with activated charcoal. This will remove the chlorophyll from your sample and then you can proceed with the separation.

Activated charcoal could be a good solution, but it can also removed other colored compounds. I generally add 10 % of charcoal in the liquid extract and let act for 3h.

For instance, 10g of charcoal for 100 g of starting plant material.

Another solution is liquid-liquid extraction with hexane and an immiscible solvent. You will removed chlorophyll, waxe and lipid in the hexane fracion.

Is there any method for removing only chlorophyll from lipids such as phospholipids?

I have added activated charcoal to a dry leaf aqueous and no color has been removed from the extract. May be I have to use fresh leaves?
