Bottles marked 5% Nafion® 117 solution containing 15-20% water is available in the market in various capacities.
Prepare a mixture containing 80-85 mL of ethyl alcohol and 20-15 mL of water.
Keep on adding the above mixture solution in 5 wt% Nafion® 117 solution till the total volume of diluted Nafion® 117 solution becomes appxo. 20 times the original volume .
It will be 0.25 wt% Nafion solution.
If the concentrated solution of the required chemical is available in the market, then it should be possible to prepare the necessary concentration solution simply by the dilution method in general.
If it is partially water soluble or not soluble in water then aqueous/ non-aqueous (a binary) or a non-aqueous solvent is needed to be used.
How much actual "Bottles marked 5% Nafion® " for this purpose i require for this dilution. I have 100uL at my disposal and i want to reduce the concentration from 5% to 0.25% wt Nafion?
it is very straight forward to use the formula weight of the solute/volume of the solution *100%
