My sample is vitamin-mineral mix(powder) consist of Fe source and ZnO at the same time. When I try to measure Zn content, the result be higher than exact percentage of Zn in mix. For sample preparation I used nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide together for leaching, but still same problem... Can you suggest a usefull leaching method for this problem?

Do you have any idea about the other sources not contribute Zn level in sample (that mean you predicted calculation is ok)
First try with 2nd wave number for Zn
Then do the sample metrics addition method to avoid the sample matrices
Mr Kolita, I could not find a method for sample metrics addition . Could you explain a bit more? What is the 2nd wave number for Zn ? Please give more detail for this matter. If you have any proper method for preparation sample before testing, would you share with me?

The analysis of metals within vitamins and foodstuffs always intrigues students and consumers as a result of the immediate use of the data in everyday life. Copper and zinc in multivitamin tablets lend themselves readily to this type of analysis since the elements can be extracted easily and then quantitatively analyzed in a matter of minutes. The procedure for this analysis follows. A series of standards for zinc and another series of standards for copper must be prepared. The zinc metal is dissolved in dilute acid to prepare a concentrated stock solution. The stock solution is diluted to prepare the analytical standards.
