When I'm looking for the reactions of MOFs with another compounds I found that we can make reactions between the Metal Organic Framework (MOF) and Metal Oxide, Single Metal, Polymer or graphene oxide, but I'm didn't understand the type of bonding or the mechanism of these reactions. I need references for answers
Since MOFs consist of metal ions coordinated to organic ligands forming multi-dimensional structures, you shall employ a variety of tools to characterize the nature of the interactions. This may include PXRD, IR, Raman, and essentially the NMR/MAS NMR techniques.
Dear Bakr, thank you for asking this very interesting technical question which is in fact four questions at once (metal oxides, single metals, polymers and graphene oxide). In all cases I strongly suggest that you directly search the "Publications" section of RG for useful references which might help you on your analysis. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) interactions with other metal , metal oxides r graphene oxides depend upon the reaction conditions. Its all depend upon the intentions of use of MOFs. Some researchers use MOFs as coating material around metals some use as source of metal or metal oxide, few of them use MOFs to synthesize in-situ coated carbon around metals. So what exactly idea you want to use interaction among them(MOFs + X, Y, Z ) can be confirmed in that way.
In addition to this if you are interacting a conductive MOF, definitely you will not do the carbonization step or if you are interacting some non conductive MOF to convert MOF organic backbone to amorphous or conductive carbon in that case you follow the carbonization step. So TEM is best tool to check the nature of MOF mostly conductive MOFs are crystalline so their d-spacing can be analyzed by the TEM
Why I am not saying XRD analysis: because MOF crystallinity is very less compared to metallic crystallinity. So in sample where metal is interacted with MOF; MOFs XRD peaks would be suppressed by the metal XRD peaks.
In addition to this XPS would be helpful either interaction is physical or chemical,

One of the best way is to apply Hirshfeld surface analyses.
But you should make a crystallographic molecule models first.
