I am very new to the ellipsometry. I got the data for my thin films sample from J.A.Woolam & Co M-2000 ellipsometer. I wanted determine thickness of the coated thin film on glass substrate(of thickness 1.1 mm) with CompleteEase software.
Can anybody please explain the steps to be followed to determine the thickness of the thin films in CompleteEase software.
I am herewith attaching the data of 3 samples. In all the cases, coated materials are Zinc Oxide(ZnO).
Dear, why don't use optical measurement of thin films device to calculate thickness.

you can determine the thickness of the film from optical transmission spectra using Swanepoel method.
the easiest method is the swanapole's if your transmission spectrum has good number of fringes. ellipsometry uses modelling where you have to have a good knowledge of the different optical processes like inter band, band to band, electronic transitions etc.
You can measure the absorption spectra (transmission spectra) of your substrate with and without thin film. then useing the formular Beer Lambert http://www.brighthub.com/environment/renewable-energy/articles/79089.aspx#imgn_0
then you can define the thickness
This method is cheaper than others
