I am searching for fhaB gene sequence of some bordetella pertussis strains for my research but after searching in several databases I could not find that. Can anyone tell me how I can get my sequence of interest?
You should be able to find it in ncbi.
Try this link (the search terms are in it):
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/?term=(fhaB)+AND+%22Bordetella+pertussis%22%5Bporgn%3A__txid520%5D
That will give you all the version of it, you just have to pick the one you're interested in.
hi
I tried the link you have suggested but there were no results for the strains i am searching for.
In your opinion is it possible that these stains have not been sequenced so far?
I am searching for fhaB sequences of following strains: Bp509 and Bp134
Here's a list of all the strains that NCBI has:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Taxonomy/Browser/wwwtax.cgi?id=520
Yours don't seem to be in there...
have a look here:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/protein/?term=fhaB+bordetella
Is this the one you were looking for?

Hi,
I invite you to search in the NCBI "gene database":
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/?term=fhaB+bordetella+pertussis
It is almost the same type of the "protein database" that Gennaro Apuzzo gives you but maybe with more accurate information.
