I try to model a plate with in-plan loading for analysis of post-buckling.
for some configuration of longitudinal stiffeners like as symmetrical stiffener section, the BC of long edges of plate must be symmetrical.
How can I do this in abaqus?
Something like this:
*BOUNDARY, TYPE=DISPLACEMENT
EDGE, (XSYMM or YSYMM or ZSYMM)

at PBC (Periodic BC) : u1_left(x)=u1_right(x) and ru1_left(x)=ru1_right(x) for same x nodes alone x direction for opposite nodes
That's right, I should read more accurately. If you consider the two (parallel) edges of the plate, the BCs are only correct for one edge:
*BOUNDARY, TYPE=DISPLACEMENT
NODES_EDGE_1, XSYMM
For the other side, the BCs have the following structure:
*BOUNDARY, TYPE=DISPLACEMENT
EDGE_2, 5, 6
*EQUATION

NODES_EDGE_2, 1, 1.0, MASTER_NODE, 1, -1.0
These BCs define a periodic structure in both x-directions.
NODES_EDGE_1 are all nodes of the edge with the symmetric boundary conditions BCs XSYMM. On the other edge EDGE_2, analogue BCs have to be defined. The x-displacements of nodes on the edge EDGE_2 have to be coupled and two rotations (5, 6) must be suppressed. The MASTER_NODE is an additionnal node to realize this coupling. You can also use a node of EDGE_2 as MASTER_NODE.

BUT THE RESTRAINT NODES AND BC'S(SEE ATTACHED FILE PLEASE)CONFLICTED.
