I have synthesized Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) nanoparticles at same temperature with varying reaction times.
The results of Raman by using green laser show CZTS particles are being formed but there are very minor differences in the peaks at different reaction times. But in case of EDX the atomic compositions are different for different CZTS synthesized at different times.
Each method probe different things !
EDX is sensitive to composition change
Raman spectroscopy is sensitive to structure change.
This is well known e.g for the spinel structure: the Raman signature remains about the same what ever the composition. Even for perovskite structure.
If the structure is not modified, the wavenumber shift and intensity change are very small. Largest modifications may be searched in the low wavenumber range, especially if T' modes are active.
both characterizations are different. raman gives information abt size and structures. it is varying with different time with composition may be due to variation in size and structure.
Both techniques are pretty different.
Raman is mainly for the structure analysis while EDX mainly deals with the composition only.

I think I was unable to explain my question. I know what is the difference between raman and edx.
In my case the raman results show that the CZTS particles are being formed but the edx results should also show the compositions corresponding to CZTS particles. But in my case edx results show the compositions of the elements far away from the ideal case.
This is the problematic thing for me and I am still searching what could be the reasons for it and seeking help on this platform as well.
If you have more Cu or Zn than expected, your results can be explained by presence of pure Cu or Zn phases (or their alloy). They would give no Raman signal, but would be visible in EDX.
If you have higher concentration of S or Sn, I would suggest for checking for their Raman spectra (and possible combinations) in the literature or rruff.info database, and double checking whether you have weak features in Raman, indicating their presence.

The XRD is strong elastic scattering between incident photon and atom or ion in the lattice so it result give information about refraction pattern (refraction plane) of the crystal (010) ....etc
Raman is weak inelastic scattering between incident photon and electron clod in the molecule it result give information about vibration,rotation and frequency mode in the system generally it contain mode related to infrared absorption,Raylight scattering, modes involve the vibration of the huts sup lattice and modes involve the vibration of oxygen that characteristic the resultant material structure( wartizte, rotail, anataites ...etc)

I agree with Evgeniya Sheremet may be you have more Cu or Zn than expected
so the third kind of mode that modes involve the vibration of the huts sup lattice far away from the ideal case. because more value of dope material =more vacancies
that change the sup lattice structure .
