Hi Bryson. I have written a whole chapter in my thesis on creativity. It lists some of the models, characteristics and ways of measuring creativity and distinguishes between Western concepts and more holistic concepts of creativity. It also has some good references. I like Arthur Cropley's work on measuring creativity. The teachers interviewed distinguished surface level creativity from deep level creativity. I think it's important to have a definition of creativity that takes into account the way various cultures and individuals define the concept. All the best, Nikki
CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME TOOLS FOR MEASURING TEACHER'S ATTITUDE TOWARD TEACHER- AND LEARNER-CENTRED TEACHING? I WANT TO MEASURE TO KNOW WHETHER OR NOT TEACHERS ARE ALIGNED TO TEACHER-CENTRED OR LEARNER-CENTRED TEACHING IN HIGHER LEARNING INSTITUTIONS. I AM DOING RESEARCH ON THIS.
First, you can set evaluation criteria, based on one or more theoretical models, and these criteria should be general, measurable and observable. So you can build on the Gilford or Torrance model in measuring creativity (fluency, flexibility, originality, etc.). You can also benefit from creative problem solving models ... in addition to evaluating creative products for students.
