how do you think the people in academia can effectively carry this out with the people at legislative, executive, and industrial professions?
I propose two research concepts in this area: 1. Crisis management is the result of a crisis in an enterprise, and the crisis could be the result of the lack of prior implementation of sustainable development principles in a given economic entity. 2. The implementation of sustainable development principles into a company can be an element of repair and restructuring processes carried out during crisis management.

Crisis management help to prevent unfortunate things or events that occur to organisations and the natural environment. When such events occur, crisis management strategies seek to mitigate their impacts.
It needs to implement new scanning methods. Academics bridges the gap by developing the courses that can help the students to face the challanges.

Question très importante sur le rôle des universitaires dans la perception de certains sujets. On voit bien ,des lors, que cela commence par la contribution des universitaires dans la redéfinition des concepts, où tout simplement le retour au sens premier de certaines notions. Une situation de crise n'est pas toujours connue à l'avance sur sa nature, ou sa provenance, mais on peut savoir, bien à l'avance les types de conséquences qui peuvent en résulter. Que la crise résulte d'un gros accident, d'un risque naturel ou technologique, ou d'un événement sanitaire. Aussi, il faudrait selon nous, réhabiliter, voir redéfinir tout une série de notions; y compris les notions d'environnement, de soutenabilité, de mitigation ou d’intérêt général qui prennent tout leur sens en situation de crise :
Exemple, si au lieu de se fonder sur les définitions académiques de l'environnement d'aujourd'hui on pouvait prendre en compte celle-ci: "ensemble des éléments qui nous entourent, qui nous influencent et d'où nous tirons notre subsistances", On voit bien, des lors, que la mitigation, par exemple, qui consiste à se préparer pour pouvoir gérer une crise, nous oblige à regarder si les éléments qui "nous influencent" et d'où nous tirons "notre subsistance", font l'objet d'une anticipation soutenable, dans un objectif d’intérêt général. On pourrait poursuivre le raisonnement ainsi de proche en proche, pour mesurer la soutenabilité des différentes anticipations des plans de mitigation. Cela ne se fait pas dans nos systèmes politiques où les poids des priorités individuelles sont excessifs par rapport aux priorités collectives.Les universitaires doivent continuer à proposer des voies d'évolution des systèmes sociaux qui prennent mieux en compte les impératifs collectifs de gestion de crise et les priorités individuelles en situation hors crise

The notion of social compact or partnership becomes increasingly important than ever before in times of sustainability and crisis management. Research Networks, think tanks, industry and policy making bodies with common agenda and explicit purpose, composed of highly skilled inviduals with influence to decision making structures should be strengthened.
As we know sustainability main elements are economic, social and environment, we need to bring these three framework in resolving crisis management. Meaning that bridging sustainability for crisis involves an assessment with tools generated from these three sustainability elements. Assessments may vary between regions, nations state, or simply territorial impacted by the crisis.
The balance between these three sustainability are the exact purpose of how to create holistic and systematic view to resolve and place steps for crisis management. In the end, it is the role of legislative, executive, and industrial professions to priorities, choose and analyse whichever best for the output of sustainable development plan to reach the best viable projection of sustainability

Most academics exist under the umbrella of higher education institutions. So, it's important to question the social responsibility of higher education institutions. It's only within than frame that we can start exploring the different level of engagement of academics. I think academics should go to the people, meet them where they are and work with them. And l have used action research to do that.
