I have some non-independent data (condition 1, condition 2) that I want to analyse at two levels (individual, condition) in a multilevel model. Is there a minimum number of conditions I can nest within individuals? I can only see examples of three or more... (usually Time 1, Time 2, Time 3, etc). Is nesting only two conditions within individuals acceptable, and will this allow individual differences in response to condition 1 vs condition 2 to be modeled?
