Higher qualification reduce our job opportunity ?

Personally I don't see higher qualification reduces job opportunity because job opportunity is depending on numerous factors including: qualification, competency, skill set, personality, attitudes, experience, exposure, salary expectation, job market demand & supply etc. - some jobs require higher qualification & some do not.

Which is the best time to do higher studies? before or after getting a job ?

Either way have their advantages & disadvantages - this might depend on an individual preference & his / her surrounding conditions.  E.g. some people prefer to do higher studies after getting a job / worked for a while because working experience can help them to learn better, some go to work first to earn some savings before further their studies etc. whereas some prefer to continue after their undergraduate studies due to learning momentum, scholarship, aiming to become an academician etc.

You are absolutely right about PhD holders unemployment;  this is at least the situation in my country. Facts and experiences of  life reflect that the best time for looking for employment is before registering for a  PhD program. Naturally, I personally believe that much depends on the country where you are living at the moment.

Higher qualification demands gets restricted due to the fact that well known companies have with them such higher qualified personnel so in such company the opportunity to receive assignment in the line with the higher qualification remains the problem.

It is very likely that company who are to start their venture such higher qualified person may receive an opportunity to their requirement .

This is my personal opinion 

Generally, more qualifications better job opportunities, at least in Canada.

I know in some countries a PhD expects more salary, so to save money firms hire less qualified  people.

Might somehow, if you are looking for the position that may not have a higher degree expectations. look for the good fit and relevance of your degree to a very specific position.  

certainly a highly qualified individual is much sought than to those who have lesser academic qualifications. However, it still depends on the person and the company who is hiring. after subjecting an applicant into the hiring process and found out that only intellectual is present but lacking with other skills like technical and human relation most likely he/she will never be employed

 PhD is only one of the employment qualifications. To increase the relevance and flexibility to the labor market, I consider horizontal qualification by advancing studies in generic competencies. BS Education to MA Education to PhD Education is vertical advancement. Vertical alignment of professional development will lead to expertise in specific function or job task but the relevance and flexibility to labor market are limited.

This observation invites me to develop qualification framework with emphasis on horizontal qualification: Flight crews are not all graduates of tourism, bank employees are not all graduates of BS management, banking and finance, teachers are not all graduates of BSed, managers are not all graduates of BS management. There are professional roles that are strictly based on vertical qualifications but there generic roles responsive to labor market mobility. Horizontal qualification bridges education and labor industry.

Anybody who is interested in conducting research to analyze the labor market to develop qualification framework.

As per my personal observation, in our country,  the number of highly qualified candidates are very much higher than the available vacancies.;higher qualification in certificate doesn't mean all of  them are  efficient to work in industry/faculty positions.

Many of the qualified candidates are ready to engage in jobs requiring much lower qualification. Some companies deny such over qualified candidates, else they are forced to work with lower salaries.

If you mean "our" is job opporturnities in higher education institutions , I don't think so. It may create greater competition for those who want to pursue a career in academis - but that is good in the long run. Higher education institutions can get higher quality staff - for among the Phd's there are good ones and there are better ones. Perhaps for the not so good ones, it might mean reducing their chances of getting hired. The good ones will not suffer any consequences - the not so good perhaps.

Opporturnities are aplenty. besides higher education institutions - there are also research institutions in which high quality candidates are highly sought after. I personally believe that we still need more Phd's for private higher education institution

As for when to get Phd before or after getting a job ... if you can get a job first, get a job irts. It will "secure" your job - but some require a Phd before you can be hired! Public universities (in Malaysia at least), would appoint one as a 'tutor' , which is not tenured, and send you for PhD, after which you will be permanently employed of you qualify.

>> In this life, everything is good, if done in a right time – in mathematics and natural sciences, the preferred time for ‘higher studies’ is right after a college education completion, either staying at the university, or, if lucky, obtaining an appropriate entry level scientific/research job. However, in engineering sciences, a PhD can be a later goal as well – gaining industrial experience at a job first could be a good thing.
