1. MLO-Y4: This is a mouse osteoblastic cell line that was derived from the bone marrow of C57BL/6J mice. It expresses high levels of alkaline phosphatase and has been used to study osteogenesis and mineralization in vitro.
2. UMR-106: This cell line was derived from the bone marrow of a mouse model of osteogenesis imperfecta, which is characterized by impaired bone formation and low bone mass. The cells have a reduced capacity for mineralization compared to normal osteoblasts but still retain some osteoblastic functions.
Completely agree with the first recommandation of Said Wahif, but beware that what is said about UMR-106 is at least incorrect in 3 aspects of the anwer:
1) UMR-106 is not from mouse but from rat.
2) It is not from bone marrow but from bone.
3) Its not from a mouse model of OI but as described in the original reference (see the link to the Cellosaurus entry for all info): "An osteogenic sarcoma induced in Sprague-Dawley rats by serial injections of 32P(18) has been maintained for several years of transplantation passage within the same strain of rats". So its from a radiation induced osteosarcoma.
