i have one question
if some one has discovered a new multicellular organism and he wants to do genomic research but nothing is know genetically before what should be the steps/scheme for starting the research.i mean how can he take his frist step for a long journey to develop its genomic research/genome.
i need to know what should be the plan carry on the genomic study etc please let me know steps one by one

carried out gene cloning 1st, to multiple ur sample, after that u can run sequencing on it.
if you have Next Generation Sequencing technology, then everything will be easier. Can refer to 454 sequencing and ABI Sequencing.
but first i don't know about its relation i mean its genus and specie etc than how can i clone i gene etc?
So first step is to classify your organism - so that you can put it in relation to other known species - meaning where on the tree of life does it sit? You can do it conservatively (what does it look like/eat/behaviour etc./or if it's a microorganism by the metabolism/i am neither a zoologist nor microbiologist so i can not say much about that...but it clearly depends on your organism)
you can then clone genes by using degenerated primers (you should be able to find details/protocols for that yourself) - it means you take a related and sequenced species and you try to start designing primers from this species as a starting point... (example would be - drosphila mel. and scuttle fly).
or as people already said...sequencing so you can classify it on a molecular level...this however requires access to and the money for large scale sequencing.
However i would suggest RNA-seq instead of the whole genome for the start (faster, quicker, cheaper and gives a lot of information). This gives you already some data you can work with...(if you are/have bioinformatians around) compare it with related species who are already established or whatever...so on so forth...

like what? if you want answers you should ask precise questions...scientists are usually very busy with their own work. you cannot expect anybody to help you if you are not asking concise questions.

i got it suppoes i didn't get my result than i mean i remained fail in cloning my particular gene than what should i have to do futher?
