I have 2 drugs (PTC-209 and GSK343) that are soluble in DMSO (I already made the stock solution, dissolved to a clear solution) and I have to inject them IP to mice for a 2 week treatment course. however, when I tried to add the stock solution to PBS to prepare each injection dose (in a way to keep DMSO concentration to less than 5%), the drug precipitated and I was afraid to increase DMSO concentration because of toxicity to mice. What do you recommend as a proper vehicle for this purpose?
You may have already tried this, but perhaps adding 1% bovine serum albumin (BSA) to your PBS buffer might help with solubility. I have noticed that Sigma-Aldrich sells a powdered form of PBS buffer with the Albumin already added. The powder is simply dissolved in 1 liter of de-ionized water at room temperature. I suggest just adding BSA to your PBS to see what happens before buying the already prepared powder..
