we recently bought the Blitz system and we are very happy with that. Detergent should be no problem with the sensors, but as always the concentration is important.

I have recently successfully used the Protein A sensors with 0.03% DDM and 0.2% DM. The Ni-NTA sensors are made of the Qiagen resin and they claim (Qiagen), that up to 2% of Tween and Triton should be no problem. You should be aware of detergent/buffer effects on the measurements - have always exactly the same buffer/detergent concentrations during the measurements (between different measurements and within each one). Make sure, you run the baseline with the same buffer. To get rid of excess detergent you could use Bio-Rad Bio-Beads SM-2 Adsorbents. You have to be careful, not to deplete too much of the detergent. Otherwise you will denature your membrane protein. Try out different amounts of the hydrated beads for different lengths of time. Good luck, Magdalena
