I would try something around this way: Check if the worm pathway has homologous one in human - by checking in Kegg/David etc or by gene homologs (Ensembl). Find the key genes, and do the human cell lines experiments (eg. knockout) to prove your hypotheses of therapeutic potential - here you can use comparative genomics, eg RNAseq.
