We are doing cell implants, and we are interested to see if anyone has any advice on using the cytopainter fluorescent dyes for detecting the cells 1 week post-implantation using frozen sections and immunofluorescent microscopy
We have used CellTracker red in the past to find monocytes which were applied a couple of days before into the tail vein of mice in a hind limb model in the frozen section. But it was not really fun, a lot of 10µm sections were needed to find some cells.
Also you did not mentioned what kind of cells you are planing to use, if there is proliferation involved the signal will be diluted.
