I am currently working with 8 week old male C57BL/6 mice from Charles River. I am administering 35mg/kg PTZ every other day for the last 12 days (6 PTZ administration days) and have observed little to no kindling. On day 6 for (n=5) animals I have observed an average seizure score of 1.6 using the Racine scoring scale. I know that there's a sex difference and females are more susceptible, but I have also read that they kindle at the same rate. Anyone have any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong which is why I am not seeing any kindling in these animals? Any and all advice is appreciated!
