I am trying to run IL22 for IHC and I do not know which one should I buy as a friend of mine is struggling to get a positive results from IL22 (ab 18499)
Dear Adil, You have not said what species are you working on. The antibody ab 18499 discloses IL-22 (according to abcam) in FFPE (formalin fixed paraffin embedded) human an murine tissue after heat-induced antigen retrieval. . Abcam is very good in helping with problems encountered with immunostaining using antibodies purchased from them, so your colleague should consider witting to Abcam team. There is a 'contact us' tab on their website. I would suggest that your colleague and yourself might first try to get some help from the company and make this first antibody work. Maybe the problem is with changing the antigen retrieval method (length and temperature).
I have noticed on the specification sheet for the ab 18499, on the "Most popular" list, that they have ab18564. The image which is supplied as an example immunostaining for this antibody is the same as rabbit anti-IL-22 sold by Novus Biologicals. The reactivity listed is "mouse, presumably human". If your tissue is from mouse - that might be worth a try. If you work on human tissue - maybe you could ask if you could test this antibody on human tissue and report to the company - in my experience - positive proof of using an antibody in another species or fordifferent technique is always welcomed. Good luck with your project.
