Hello. Who can help! Which GPIB card from National instruments (serial, model or year of production) which can be used for API 2000 LC/MS/MS (PE Sciex API 2000 LC/MS/MS) system?
The exact NI HPIB card for your instrument depends on which O/S, Analysts Software Rev, Bus type (e.g. PCI) you plan on using. The many different version of MS software have specific hardware and software requirements which must be met. Additionally, the HPIB cards are available in different bus configurations (many for the legacy bus types) which can limit the type of computer system used.
For example: For some of the Sciex MS systems running under the legacy PCI based systems using Windows XP, a National Instruments GPIB/Ethernet card (PCI-GPIB 8212) is used. To find out which one is correct for your application, first start by identifying the exact MS software revision you wish to use. Once you have identified the MS software, it will specify the exact HPIB card, O/S and bus types which are compatible.
Thanks for your response. My system is API 2000, I have Analyst 1.5 software and WIN XP as operation system. Can I use any PCI- GPIB card which capable with WIN XP or I need some specific?
No, not "any" HPIB card as most have proprietary firmware embedded in them. Use the National Instruments PCI card (assuming your computer has a PCI bus slot) and the correct driver found on your Analyst 1.5 software DVD (in the "GPIB 2.5" folder), not the Windows GPIB driver.
Refer to the Analyst 1.5 Software Installation Manual (copy attached).
