I have 500 mL of chloroform in a Schott flask but it's getting kind of full of some particulate impurities. I want to filter it. What's the best procedure to mantain the integrity of the organic solvent? Thanks a lot.
You could vacuum-filter this using a 0.45um, 47mm Durapore PVDF filters by EMD Millipore (Cat. HVLP04700). An all glass 47 mm Filter assembly option would be XX1004700 (300 mL funnel with stopper connection to flask) into a 1L vacuum filtering flask (Cat. XX1004705). Other filter assemblies and filtering flasks available with ground glass connections too. Visit emdmillipore.com for more information.
