We have accidentally found some compounds with good mitochondrial internalization, and would like to study if they have any effect on basic mitochondrial processes. Possibly even opening a small research project on that. We are particularly interested in ROS generation, OxPhos, mtDNA damage, mt protein expression, and Ca homeostasis.
I have seen that a company called Bionas sells an instrument that simultaneously measures a few of these parameters, (http://bit.ly/ZocGCg) is there any alternative to purchasing this instrument?. What other approaches (as direct as possible, please) can be taken. From what I've seen most of the alternative approaches come down to using certain specific dyes.
