We have Gamry Potentiostats but lost dummy cell. At the moment, we have not any budget to buy a new one. I wonder, can we have someone make the circuit? Does it work?
The only required dummy cell would be the calibration cell (or the calibration side of the older UDC's). Depending on your instrument it is either a 2 kOhm or 200 Ohm, precision resistor (0.1%). You can just obtain and use the appropriate resistor for calibration purposes. If you are referring to other dummy cells (cable cal, AC dummy...) then note that those are not necessary to maintain the system in good state.
Excuse me, has anyone had trouble calibrating a Gamry PCI4-300 (model DC105) potentiostat on Windows XP using Framework 5.04? My calibration gets stuck and doesn't progress. Does anyone have any insight into the potential causes of this issue and possible solutions?, please.
Jose Gerardo Epitacio Felix, that's an old setup so it's hard to say, though you might be looking at an interrupt issue.
Due to age, there isn't much help available for that, though if you're running XP SP3 and send in an email to Gamry tech support then we may be able to set you up with a slightly newer version of the software. Moving up to 5.5x is a big improvement, and I think that should still work with v6. There's no guarantee that will help in this case, but if you can't run otherwise, it's worth a shot.
Thank you for your prompt response and your suggestion to update the software. We have followed your recommendation and updated to version 6.33, however, the issue persists.
Given the age of the equipment, we were wondering if you could suggest any other specific actions or configurations that we could try. For example, have you had experience with similar problems in other equipment of this generation?
In the meantime, we will be contacting Gamry's technical support for additional assistance.
