In accordance to literature, multiple comparison corrections (MCC) are more suitable to be applied in large numbers of variables being measured per sample such genome-wide studies (Benjamini et al., 1995) and most genetic studies with relatively few polymorphisms are not sufficiently powered to derive definitive conclusions when adjusting results for multiple testing due to the conservative nature of these adjustments (Wessels et al., 2006). Nevertheless, the number of variables from which MCC must be applied has not been elucidated.
