NCBI is a good source for many natural molecules, e.g. DNA and protein. It is free and user-friendly. Is there any free data bank for natural products, e.g. antibiotics?
you can try dictionary of natural product (CRC press). it is not free, but you can manage simple search for free on the internet : http://dnp.chemnetbase.com/
it isat least 1 year late for new compounds but still it can be very informative.
Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately, application of natural products in medicine is caused to some restriction to reach previous explored data. Do you think is it correct? I want to send my appreciation to founders of NCBI and EzTaxon. By using of such database we reach to cutting edge of the science in taxonomy. Why there is no free data bank of natural product? Do you think, can scientists establish a free public information system? Of course, intellectual property of the authors has to considered. If yes. I think ResearchGate as a prestigious network can establish it. Would you please let me know positive and negative points of it?
As for DNP, there was an open link a couple years back for the pdf which unfortunately was taken down. I’m not sure if i archived it. Anyway, although i wouldn’t recomend it, you certainly could find sites which have that pdf still. I won’t link to any for legal reasons but im sure they’re out there.
